Tomatoes often grow leaves, flowers and fruit at the same time. Our liquid concentrate supplements their nutrient supply; here you will find the application guide and knowledge relevant to your growing setup.
Application in one place
Enter a known water amount or estimate a watering quantity from plant size.
1 capful = 5 ml. Use a suitable measuring aid for smaller partial amounts.
Enter valid positive values. Water amount: 0.1–1,000 litres; plant-size estimate: no more than 1,000 litres.
A guide for root watering only: for tomatoes, also consider container size, soil moisture and the usual watering amount. Do not water extra simply to reach the estimate; this does not calculate a spray volume.
General GREEN24 guide: height × width in metres × 3–4 litres of prepared solution. cm are converted to m. The concentrate amount follows the tomato dilution and selected plant stage; plant size does not increase the concentration.
Use a clean watering can or sprayer; preferably low-lime water or rainwater at 15–25 °C.
Choose the water volume in the calculator; use the initial setting for young tomatoes.
Start by filling the container with part of the chosen water volume.
Shake the bottle. 1 capful = 5 ml; use a measuring aid for smaller partial amounts.
Add the calculated amount of concentrate to the water.
Top up to the chosen water volume and mix well. Watering or spraying: see below.
When to feed? Use with each watering until fruit ripeness, according to growth and only during the growing season. Regular period in Europe: March–September. Account for nutrients already in your tomato compost.
Apply the mixture to a pre-moistened root zone. Ensure excess water can drain from tomato containers.
Wet tomato leaves in the morning, evening or under overcast skies, avoiding open flower clusters. Include this in the same feeding plan, not automatically as an extra to watering applications.
Net mass: 308 g for 250 ml; 1233 g for 1 litre.
The dilution is the same for both pack sizes.
| Pack size | Price |

Our Tomato Fertiliser feeds tomatoes, peppers and chillies. Variety and growing conditions determine the rest of the care plan.
Apply during active growth from March to September until fruit ripeness.
Include fertiliser already in fresh compost and previous feeds in the total supply. Do not add fertiliser to damaged or dried-out roots.
Beyond NPK · understand the formulation
From mixing to the tomato leaf: these properties support an even nutrient supply and straightforward application.
All nutrients are water-soluble. In the prepared mixture, they are available to your tomato for uptake through roots and leaves.
Copper, iron, manganese and zinc are chelated with EDTA. This protective binding helps keep these trace nutrients in solution and available to your tomato plant.
The buffering system supports pH regulation in the prepared watering or spray solution. Nutrient supply for your tomatoes is considered right from mixing.
Good wetting and adherence help spread the spray solution over tomato leaves. The dissolved nutrients are immediately available there for uptake.
The formulation improves water quality in the mixture and helps reduce hard-water residues on tomato leaves.
High plant compatibility also suits sensitive crops. In tomatoes, the nutrient supply supports rich leaf colour and the quality of growth, flowers and fruit.
Well-nourished leaves underpin sugar production and the supply to developing tomatoes. Leaf finish means an even, well-kept appearance, not an artificial glossy coating. Results also depend on light, water, variety and existing nutrition.
Chelation binds metal ions and can reduce troublesome hard-water effects; it does not remove calcium and magnesium from the water. Actual pH also depends on your source water. No specific target pH or complete softening is promised.
Straightforward application with common fertiliser dosing equipment, too. Set the device to the tomato dilution and follow its instructions.
Pre-fertilised tomato compost, garden compost or slow-release fertiliser already supplies nutrients. Include these in your tomato feeding plan; do not routinely add a second complete fertiliser on top of our NPK concentrate. Do not mix undiluted concentrates together.
Our Tomato Fertiliser – like all GREEN24 liquid fertilisers – can be mixed individually with Dr. Stähler Schädlings-Frei-Organic, Trauermückenfrei Organic, KIRON Milben-Ex or Rosen Pilz-Frei BOCCACIO. For use on tomatoes, the crop, target organism and growing location must match the product's instructions; follow doses, pre-harvest intervals and the stricter conditions of both products. This does not confirm mixing these products with each other. Find the product cards below in the plant protection advice section.

GREEN24 · Plant knowledge
Nutrients work with light, water, temperature and root space. Feeding to match demand supports tomatoes through growth, flowering and fruit development.

Leaves use light to produce sugars for growth and fruit development. Roots take up water and mineral nutrients; suitable root space remains essential.

Yellow tomato flowers can form fruit after successful pollination and fertilisation. Temperature and air movement also affect fruit set in a greenhouse.

Leaves supply sugars as the fruit grows. Check soil moisture regularly and avoid large fluctuations; more fertiliser cannot compensate for too little water.
For tomatoes and other fruiting vegetables. Pre-fertilised; the compost label specifies feeding after about six weeks.
For sowing and suitable young plants in propagation containers. Allow for existing nutrients before later feeding.
For propagation: tray, mat, 24-cell insert and cover supplied together.
For carefully pricking out and transplanting small tomato plants.
For adding compost and planting work in containers or beds.
Leaves use light; roots take up water and mineral nutrients. The diagrams show how plant organs work together and how nutrients are absorbed.
Fine tomato roots take up water and dissolved nutrients. Their space is limited in a container; evenly moist, well-aerated compost brings them into contact with the nutrient solution. Dilute the liquid concentrate in irrigation water – do not apply it directly to roots.
Green tomato leaves use light to build sugars from carbon dioxide and water. These also supply roots and fruit. Nitrogen is needed for proteins and chlorophyll; our NPK concentrate supplements mineral nutrition. A bright growing position remains essential for sugar production.
Transport tissues run through the tomato stem: xylem carries water and absorbed nutrients, while phloem distributes substances including sugars from the leaves. Growing shoot tips, roots and fruit trusses are connected through these pathways.
For a tomato flower to develop into fruit, pollination, fertilisation and growing conditions must work together. Temperature and ventilation matter in a greenhouse. When applying this fertiliser to foliage, wet the leaves and leave open flower clusters unsprayed.
As tomatoes enlarge, sugars move from the leaves into the fruit. Potassium participates in water regulation and carbohydrate transport. Consistent soil moisture keeps supply steadier; large swings between drying out and watering stress fruit development.
This formulation combines nitrogen for functions including proteins and chlorophyll, phosphorus for energy transfer, and potassium for water regulation and substance transport. These connect NPK nutrition with leaf growth and fruit development in your tomato. Declared trace nutrients and amounts are listed in the nutrient composition.

Stage 01 / 04
Watering carries the prepared mixture into the soil around your tomato’s roots, where dissolved nutrients are available for uptake.
Good to knowAlways dilute the concentrate and keep to the stated dosage.
Watering carries dissolved nutrients into the growing medium around the roots. Contact with the absorbing root surfaces is the first step.
Stage 02 / 04
Fine root hairs increase contact with the growing medium. Tiny transport proteins in the membranes surrounding root cells help dissolved nutrients enter the cells.
Good to knowRoots take up nutrients; they do not simply absorb all the fertiliser along with the water.
Root hairs increase the contact area. Transport proteins in cell membranes enable mineral ions to enter; water movement and nutrient uptake are distinct processes.
Stage 03 / 04
On their way into the root, nutrients meet a special layer of cells. It prevents substances from simply flowing through the gaps between cells and helps the plant control uptake.
Good to knowMore fertiliser does not automatically mean better nutrition.
Nutrients move through the root tissues. The endodermis acts as a control layer: its barrier interrupts unrestricted movement along the cell walls.
Stage 04 / 04
Inside the root are fine transport channels called xylem. Water and absorbed nutrients can travel through them towards shoots and leaves.
Good to knowHealthy roots and suitable growing conditions are important for nutrient supply.
After entering the vascular tissue, nutrients can travel with the water stream in the xylem towards the shoot. Uptake and nutrient supply also depend on root health and growing conditions.
Stage 01 / 04
The prepared mixture wets the tomato foliage. Keep open flower clusters free of spray.
Good to knowThis Tomato Fertiliser is suitable for foliar application. Use the prepared mixture, never undiluted concentrate.
Foliar feeding places diluted nutrient solution on the leaf surface. Wetting depends on factors including the leaf surface and the solution.
Stage 02 / 04
The leaf surface protects the plant. Dissolved nutrients can pass through this layer; tiny openings in the leaf may also play a part. Uptake varies with the type of leaf and the conditions.
Good to knowDifferent leaves do not absorb a nutrient solution equally well.
Dissolved nutrients can pass through the protective cuticle; pathways involving stomata may also contribute. Their relative importance varies with plant species and conditions.
Stage 03 / 04
Behind the surface lies living leaf tissue. Its cells can take up nutrients that have crossed the surface and use them for their activities.
Good to knowA droplet on a leaf does not yet mean its nutrients have been absorbed.
After crossing the surface, nutrients can be taken up by living leaf cells. The amount depends on factors including the nutrient, formulation and environmental conditions.
Stage 04 / 04
The plant can use absorbed nutrients within the leaf. Some can also reach other plant parts. This depends on the nutrient and the plant's condition.
Good to knowFoliar feeding does not mean every nutrient immediately reaches the whole plant.
Absorbed nutrients can be used within the leaf. Whether and how far they move to other plant parts depends on the nutrient and the plant's condition.
Development influences requirements
Start by checking rooting space, light and consistent moisture. Account for fertiliser already in the compost. Choose the initial young-plant setting in the calculator.
Tomatoes develop new leaf area while the first flower trusses form. Very lush leaf growth with delayed fruit set can indicate excess nitrogen; consider the whole nutrient supply.
As fruit develops, keep soil moisture as consistent as possible. Avoid assuming that every change in leaves or fruit means a fertiliser shortage.
Stages can overlap. Growth habit and variety influence development, so one side-shoot removal rule does not suit every tomato.
Application & calculator →Adapt care to the growing conditions and stage of growth. If you notice changes, check light, water and roots first — then take targeted action.
Nutrient reserves and soil structure vary between sites. Account for compost and previous fertilisation; a soil test helps you assess them. Choose a sunny position for this warmth-loving crop.
Containers have limited rooting space and water reserves. Check moisture and drainage regularly and account for fertiliser already in the substrate. Extra fertiliser cannot replace a suitable pot.
Greenhouse tomatoes need ventilation and watering suited to the warmth. Also check whether the roots occupy a soil bed or a limited container. This affects water needs – it does not automatically call for a stronger fertiliser solution.
When raising tomatoes indoors, adequate light and compact young plants matter. For later fruit production, light and space must also suit the fully grown tomato plant.
Check rapidly spreading brown leaf and stem lesions and damaged fruit, especially after wet weather. Rain protection, drier foliage and airflow reduce disease pressure but do not replace diagnosis.
A dark sunken patch at the blossom end is often a physiological disorder. Too little calcium reaches the fruit, for example when water supply fluctuates. Do not automatically add more fertiliser or lime.
Large swings from dry conditions to rapid water uptake can split the skin. Even moisture and timely harvesting help; susceptibility varies by cultivar.
Inspect young shoots and leaf undersides for sap-feeding insects and honeydew. Check greenhouse crops early and consider beneficial insects already present.
Heat, unsuitable humidity and poor pollination can limit fruit set. Ventilate the greenhouse, check water demand and allow flowers to move; extra feed alone will not solve the problem.
