How to find the right variety

• Flower seeds: summer flowers, sunflowers and wildflower mixes for bees and butterflies – many are sown directly outdoors from April.
• Herb seeds: basil, parsley, dill and perennial herbs such as thyme, rosemary or lavender for beds, pots and windowsills.
• Vegetable seeds: tomatoes, chillies, peppers, cucumbers, pumpkins and quick crops such as radishes or baby-leaf salad.
• Exotics from seed: dwarf banana, passion flower, pepino and cacti to start indoors.

Well prepared for sowing

Frequently asked questions

When does sowing start?

Depending on the variety, seeds are started indoors from as early as January and sown outdoors usually from April; frost-sensitive plants only after mid-May. The months are shown in each variety’s sowing calendar.

What does F1 mean?

F1 varieties are hybrids of two selected parent lines; they grow very evenly, but their seeds do not produce identical plants.

How should I store leftover seeds?

Cool, dry and dark in the closed packet; this keeps them able to germinate until the date printed on it.

Do seeds make a good gift?
