From Tender Shoot to Blooming Giant: GREEN24 XXL Fertilizer for Climbing & Shrub Roses
Climbing and shrub roses are the architects in the garden. They conquer walls, decorate pergolas, and form impressive, free-standing flowering shrubs. This enormous growth and flowering performance places special demands on nutrition. A simple rose fertilizer is often not enough here. Our XXL specialized fertilizer was developed to give these rose giants the strength for growth, stability, and flower abundance.
The World of Climbing & Shrub Roses
The Genus: Rosa – Masters of Diversity
These roses also belong to the genus Rosa. Their specialty lies in their growth form, which makes them indispensable for vertical and space-filling garden design.
The Class: Shrub Roses
- Description: Shrub roses grow bushy, wide, and often reach a height of 1.5 to 2 meters. They are robust, free-flowering, and versatile. Many modern English roses from breeders like David Austin belong to this class.
- Use: Ideal as specimen shrubs, for mixed hedges (mixed borders), or as background planting.
- Famous Varieties: 'Westerland' (apricot-orange, fragrant), 'Graham Thomas' (deep yellow, English rose), 'Rosarium Uetersen' (pink, abundantly flowering).
The Class: Climbing Roses (Climbers & Ramblers)
- Description: Two types are distinguished. **Climbers** have stiff, thick canes, bloom repeatedly during the year, and reach heights of 2-4 meters. **Ramblers** have soft, flexible canes, usually bloom once a year overwhelmingly richly, and can climb over 10 meters high.
- Use: Climbers for rose trellises, rose arches, and obelisks. Ramblers for covering house walls, old trees, and large pergolas.
- Famous Varieties: **Climbers:** 'New Dawn' (pale pink, indestructible), 'Santana' (bright red). **Ramblers:** 'Bobby James' (white, huge, strongly fragrant), 'Veilchenblau' (violet, almost thornless).
The Science Behind XXL Growth
The Nitrogen-Potassium Formula for Framework Builders
Our fertilizer provides a growth and stability-oriented nutrient combination:
- Increased Nitrogen (N): Provides the necessary energy for cane length growth to quickly gain height and volume.
- Adapted Phosphorus (P): Ensures a strong root system that can anchor and supply the huge plant mass, and promotes flower formation.
- Very High Potassium (K): The most important nutrient for stability! It strengthens wood, makes canes flexible and resistant, and increases frost hardiness.
- Silicon & Trace Elements: Silicon additionally strengthens cell walls and improves defenses against fungal diseases like black spot.
