Drench use and larval development

Manufacturer explanation for Trauermückenfrei Organic; use only within the matching drench application.

Treat the root zone

Use the matching drench solution for the authorised propagation of young plants in greenhouses.

Inhibit larval development

The manufacturer states that azadirachtin from neem prevents the larvae from developing into adult insects.

Continue observing the infestation

Repeat only at intervals of 7 to 14 days and within the maximum number for the drench use.

An effect on larvae does not establish an authorised foliar spray against adult fungus gnats.

Questions about Trauermückenfrei Organic

Where does the fungus gnat drench use apply?

Use 024436-90/00-056 covers ornamental plants during propagation of young plants in greenhouses for non-professional users in home and allotment gardens. It does not establish a general drench recommendation for arbitrary houseplants or edible crops.

What is the drench rate?

For the specified propagation use: 15 ml product in 3 l water per m². This equals 5 ml per litre, but the water volume of 3 l per m² remains part of the rate.

How far does 30 ml go when drenching?

Calculated coverage is 6 l of drench solution and 2 m² for one treatment under use 024436-90/00-056. This is not the coverage across repeated treatments and does not replace measuring the area.

How often may I drench against fungus gnats?

No more than 4 treatments for this use and in the crop or calendar year, with intervals of 7 to 14 days. Do not shorten the interval merely because flying insects remain visible.

May I spray adult fungus gnats on the leaves?

The fungus gnat use listed here does not support that: it is a drench use during propagation of young plants. The separate spray uses cover other expressly listed pests and crops.

Is 3 ml per litre a universal spray rate?

No. The individual records distinguish crop, plant height, product rate and water volume. For potatoes, for example, the rate is 0.25 ml/m² in 30 to 70 ml/m² water with a maximum of 2 treatments. Do not substitute a rate from another use.

Does B4 mean the product is harmless to all beneficial organisms?

No. B4 concerns bees up to the highest authorised rate or concentration. The BVL lists harmful or slightly harmful effects on several beneficial species.

May I reuse fertiliser watering volumes or mix the product with fertiliser?

Fertiliser watering volumes do not replace plant protection application rates. The information here does not establish compatibility; the instructions for both products must cover such use.
