How to use
Water expands the flat peat pellets into individual propagation plugs. Choose 10, 20, 50, 100 or 1000 pieces, then transplant rooted plugs with their net into suitable growing medium.
- Prepare a tray
Place the pellets with their opening facing upwards in a watertight tray or suitable indoor propagator.
- Allow to expand
Carefully add lukewarm water. Allow about five minutes for the pellets to expand, adding a little more water if needed.
- Drain excess water
Pour away water that has not been absorbed. Keep the plugs moist without leaving them standing in water.

Eight steps to use
Transplant rooted plugs gently
Keep the medium moist and later transplant sufficiently rooted plugs with their net into suitable growing medium. The image illustrates use.

Prepare a tray
Place the pellets with their opening facing upwards in a watertight tray or suitable indoor propagator.

Open the net slightly at the top and gently loosen the sowing spot, keeping the plug intact.

Sow or insert plants
Follow the seed packet instructions. Seed covering, temperature and light requirements depend on the species. Gently insert small seedlings or suitable cuttings.

Monitor moisture
Keep the plugs moist throughout propagation, avoiding waterlogging. Check regularly; a lighter substrate colour indicates decreasing moisture.

Prepare young plants
Ventilate an indoor propagator progressively as roots develop. Gradually acclimatise plants to their intended location before planting out.

Transplant the intact plug
Water rooted plugs before transplanting. Place each plug with its net into suitable growing medium; do not pull off the rooted net. Gently firm the surrounding medium and water in.

Which pack size should I choose?
Each pellet forms one propagation plug. Choose the count for your planned sowing and follow species-specific guidance on the number of seeds per plug.
Should I remove the net?
Transplant the rooted plug with its net. Removing it can damage roots that have already grown through it.
Are these peat-free coir pellets?
No. This family contains 44 mm peat pellets. Coir is an additional starting material and does not make the product peat-free.
How much water is needed?
Add lukewarm water for expansion and drain the excess afterwards. During propagation, water requirements depend on the location, species and stage of growth.
