Hydroponik 40 Plus – Propagation House with 40 Jiffy 44 mm Pellets

Hydroponik 40 Plus combines a reusable propagation house with 40 matching peat pellets. Once expanded, the Jiffy pellets form individual plugs; rooted young plants can later be transplanted with their plug and net.

1. Prepare the house and pellets

   Place the water tray on a level, water-resistant surface. Lay the mat flat, moisten it and fit the 40-cell tray. Place the pellets opening upwards in the cells.

2. Allow to expand

   Carefully add lukewarm water. Allow about five minutes for the pellets to expand, adding a little more water if needed.

3. Remove excess water

   Pour away water that has not been absorbed. Keep plugs and mat moist without leaving the plugs permanently standing in water.

4. Prepare the sowing opening

   Open the net slightly at the top and gently loosen the sowing spot, keeping the plug intact.

5. Sow or insert plants

   Follow the seed packet instructions. Covering, temperature and light requirements depend on the species. Gently insert small seedlings or suitable cuttings.

6. Monitor moisture and cover

   Fit the cover as needed. Check plug moisture regularly; a lighter substrate colour indicates decreasing moisture. Add water as needed, avoiding waterlogging and overheating.

7. Prepare young plants

   As roots develop, lift or remove the cover for ventilation. Gradually acclimatise plants to their intended location before planting out.

8. Transplant with plug and net

   Water rooted plugs before transplanting. Place each plug with its net into suitable growing medium; do not pull off the rooted net. Gently firm the surrounding medium and water in. Clean the reusable house components afterwards and store dry.

The pellets already contain their growing medium and are expanded before sowing. Transplant the rooted plug with its net. Matching pellets are available separately for another growing cycle.

• Use water-bearing parts securely on a suitable surface. Avoid waterlogging and overheating under the cover.
• Do not pull off the rooted net during transplanting, to protect the roots.

Store dry and protected from weather. Protect from soaking and direct sunlight; reseal opened packs.

Clean the water tray, mat, cell tray and cover after use and dry before storage.
