A clean cut with controlled handling

For regular pruning of shrubs, fruit trees and vines, the FELCO 2 combines a generous grip with an adjustable cutting head. Its bypass blade passes the counter blade as the handles close.

Rated cutting capacity is up to 25 mm. Wood species, condition and hand strength affect comfortable cutting. Use suitable loppers or a saw for thicker branches.

  1. Check the fit

    You should be able to open and close the handles without changing your grip. FELCO 2 is designed for large right hands.

  2. Position the cut

    Keep the blade towards the part of the plant you are retaining. Place the shoot deep within the open cutting head.

  3. Close smoothly

    Apply steady pressure without levering sideways. Keep your free hand away from the cutting area.

  4. After pruning

    Remove sap and dirt, dry the tool and apply a little oil to moving parts.

Built for an adjustable, precise cut

The hardened steel blade and riveted counter blade are replaceable. Fine adjustment lets you set the clearance between the cutting parts.

Forged aluminium handles support the mechanism. Red grip covers provide hold, while the bumper and shock absorber cushion closing. A sap groove and an integrated wire cutter complete the cutting head.

Match the model marking on your tool to the part number in the diagram. Blade 2/3 and counter blade 2/4 are different components. Spring pack 2/91 contains two 2/11 springs.

Safe use & storage
  • Keep your free hand and other people clear of the cutting area.
  • Place the tool securely before maintenance; do not test sharp edges with bare fingers.
  • Close the catch for transport and storage, and keep the tool out of children’s reach.

Keep your secateurs ready for work

Remove residues after pruning and dry the tool. Lightly oil moving parts and wipe off excess oil. Sharpen the blade as needed, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

If cleaning and adjustment do not restore a clean cut, inspect the blade and counter blade for wear. Check the model before ordering replacement parts.

It is designed for large right hands. A more compact model may be more comfortable for smaller hands. Check that you can open and close the handles in a controlled way.

What does bypass mean?

Are blade 2/3 and counter blade 2/4 the same part?
