If leaves are yellow or growth is weak, assess moisture, drainage and position too. Prepare the compost, a suitable container, a watering can and clean tools. Work in frost-free weather and avoid extreme heat. Gently moisten a severely dry root ball before repotting.
If extra space is needed, choose a slightly larger, stable container with drainage holes. There should be room for fresh compost beside and beneath the root ball. Allow enough height to retain the original planting depth and leave a watering rim. Shrub height alone does not determine the container size or the volume of compost required.
Check the holes in the bottom of the container. A decorative outer pot without drainage does not replace a freely draining planting container. Avoid leaving a saucer filled with water. An arrangement with coarse material and water-permeable fleece above it is optional. If you use this arrangement, neither should block the drainage holes. A layer like this does not automatically prevent waterlogging; open outlets and suitable watering remain essential.
Support the root ball and ease it carefully out of its old container. Gently squeeze the sides of a flexible plastic pot or tap the pot wall. Do not pull forcefully on the shoots. Inspect the exposed ball for damaged or dead roots. Retain healthy roots wherever possible. Investigate unusual smells, soft root tissue or severe damage before proceeding.
Add an initial layer of Cherry Laurel Compost to the container. Set the root ball on it and check the height. Add or remove compost beneath the ball until the position is right. The old root-ball surface should finish level with the new compost surface. Do not bury the point where roots meet shoots more deeply. Leave space below the pot rim to hold watering water.
Position the shrub and gradually fill the space around the root ball with compost. Firm lightly with your fingers to remove large air pockets. Do not compact the compost forcefully. Keep the ball at its original height and leave an even watering rim.
Water slowly and evenly over the root zone. The water should reach both the existing root ball and the added compost. Watch for excess water draining from the bottom. Do not leave drained water standing in the saucer or outer pot. If water only overflows the upper rim, check the rim, surface and drainage before continuing.
After watering, check whether compost has settled around the sides. Top up gently if necessary, keeping the original planting depth and root collar uncovered. Check moisture before subsequent watering. The compost already contains nutrients. Plan additional feeding around plant condition, season and nutrients already supplied, following the directions for the fertiliser used.
Mix one capful (5 ml) with 1 litre of water for watering or spraying. Apply only during the growing season; the regular period in Europe is April/May–September.
| Water | Standard 100 % | Young plants 50 % | Seedlings with leaves 20 % |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 l | 5 ml | 2.5 ml | 1 ml |
| 5 l | 25 ml | 12.5 ml | 5 ml |
| 10 l | 50 ml | 25 ml | 10 ml |
Shake the concentrate before use.
Pour the required amount of water into a suitable container.
Use standard 100%, young plants 50%, or seedlings with leaves 20% of the basic dilution. Concentration does not determine the watering volume needed.
Measure the calculated amount accurately with a suitable measuring aid.
Add the concentrate to the water and mix evenly.
Feed the already moist root ball when nutrients are needed; do not overwater using a rigid water volume.
Do not mix the entire bottle into the bag. The compost is ready to use; dilute the concentrate separately with water.
Cherry Laurel Repotting Set: 10 litres of ready-to-use repotting compost and 250 ml liquid concentrate for later feeding according to need.
Plan further feeding according to plant needs and active growth, accounting for nutrients already present.

Plant profile and care calendar
Prunus laurocerasus is not culinary bay laurel. Allow adequate long-term root space in containers and check the evergreen root ball during dry winter periods too.
Ready to use for cherry laurel in containers, hedges and as individual shrubs.
The label lists use in containers, hedge planting and specimen shrubs. Plant rooted plants at their previous depth and water thoroughly after planting.
Containers need open drainage holes. In the garden, prepare with the existing soil, its drainage and the actual planting area in mind.
Existing nutrients count towards the plant’s supply. Match additional feeding to the season, plant condition and previous applications. The product label gives no fixed interval for starting supplementary feeding.
The general leaflet supplements this planting guidance; the directions on this product’s label remain the basis for use.
Store dry and dark above 8 °C and at no more than 38 °C.
Keep inaccessible to children and animals.
Follow the product label for shelf-life information.
Use diluted fertiliser promptly.

Plan further feeding according to plant needs and active growth, accounting for nutrients already present.
5 ml per 1 litre of water. The table shows standard, young-plant and leafy-seedling strengths.
At standard dilution, approximately 50 litres of feed solution. Match watering volume to the plant.
No. Use the ready-to-use compost and dilute the concentrate separately with water for later feeding.

Plan further feeding according to plant needs and active growth, accounting for nutrients already present.

5 ml per 1 litre of water. Account for the initial nutrients in the compost.
The plant species, photographs and details of location, moisture and previous care help assess plant damage. Identify the cause and a suitable application before treatment.
More fertiliser is not a general solution to growing problems. A recommendation to buy products together does not confirm that they can be mixed.
