Repotting & subsequent feeding
Repotting in eight steps
- Assess need and species
Repot when the root ball needs more space or the medium has lost structure. Check the species and resting period.
- Choose a suitable pot
Choose a pot only moderately larger with unobstructed drainage holes. An oversized pot can remain wet unnecessarily long.
- Keep drainage clear
Keep drainage holes unobstructed. The medium manages water movement; a thick gravel layer is not a universal requirement.
- Release the root ball safely
Use suitable gloves and a soft handling aid. Release the root ball without pulling on spines or thin segments.
- Check roots and planting depth
Preserve healthy roots where possible. Position the plant so its stem base and root collar sit no deeper than before.
- Fill gently around the sides
Add medium around the sides in small portions and let it settle gently. Avoid hard compaction and leave a small watering space.
- Allow for root recovery
Do not immediately soak freshly damaged cactus roots. Match the first watering to species, temperature and root condition.
- Observe aftercare and growth
Place the plant in shelter initially and acclimatise gradually to stronger light. The compost label specifies feeding after 4–6 weeks, when growth and roots are ready.
Prepare the fertiliser separately
5 ml per 1 l of water.

- Shake
Shake the concentrate before use.
- Prepare water
Pour the required amount of water into a suitable container.
- Select strength
Use standard 100%, young plants 50%, or seedlings with leaves 20% of the basic dilution. Concentration does not determine the watering volume needed.
- Measure concentrate
Measure the calculated amount accurately with a suitable measuring aid.
- Mix
Add the concentrate to the water and mix evenly.
- Apply as needed
Feed the already moist root ball when nutrients are needed; do not overwater using a rigid water volume.
Do not mix the entire bottle into the bag. The compost is ready to use; dilute the concentrate separately with water.

- Do not use undiluted. Shake well before use.
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
- Preferably use low-lime water or rainwater at 15–25 °C.
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or at temperatures below 5 °C or above 30 °C.
- Apply to a pre-moistened root zone or spray the foliage. Do not spray open flowers.

Store in a dry, dark place above 8 °C and at no more than 38 °C. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Compost
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not inhale dust.
Keep the growing medium away from food and drink. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.
Keep the growing medium out of reach of children and animals.
Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Protect from drying out, becoming waterlogged and direct sunlight.
Seal opened packs tightly and use the contents as soon as possible.
