Carnivorous plant repotting set

Identify the carnivorous plant species and its growing-medium needs before repotting. The two set components are not dosed as one ready-made mixture.

1. Remove the plant

   Carefully remove the plant from its existing pot and handle delicate roots gently.

2. Prepare a suitable container

   Choose a pot suited to the species and root ball, considering the required moisture regime when selecting it.

3. Plant into the medium

   Place in the appropriate carnivorous plant medium and fill around the roots. Anchor the roots without assuming one planting depth for all carnivorous plants.

4. Water carefully

   Use rainwater or distilled water, adjusting the amount and subsequent moisture regime to the identified species.

5. Assess fertiliser separately

   Use only during active growth and according to the directions on the supplied bottle. Do not copy another concentrate’s dose.

The medium and liquid fertiliser are separate consumable components. Each has its own composition, directions and safety requirements.

Existing texts give differing information about pre-fertilisation of the medium. Neither guaranteed absence of nutrients nor a fixed waiting period before feeding is derived from them.

Carnivorous plants have different trapping mechanisms and growing needs. The particular species determines suitable medium, position and moisture.

Rainwater or distilled water suits the care described. Moisture management must be species-specific; a universal waterlogging or drying rule is unsuitable for all carnivorous plants.

• Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
• Do not inhale dust.
• Keep away from food and beverages. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
• Keep out of reach of children and animals. Follow the separate directions for both components.

The existing set description states dry, dark storage at +8 °C to +30 °C and prompt use of the opened bag. This bag guidance does not independently establish a storage temperature for the separate fertiliser bottle.
