Repotting in eight steps

1. Check the need to repot

   Roots filling the pot or deteriorated compost can justify repotting. Choose the time according to species, growth and flowering.

2. Prepare a suitable container

   Choose a stable container with free drainage. Match the new root space to the root ball; avoid an excessively large pot.

3. Keep drainage holes open

   Remove blockages. Mesh can retain compost without sealing the drainage holes. Empty any decorative outer pot after watering.

4. Release the root ball gently

   Loosen the container and support the root ball. Remove only loose compost and clearly dead roots. Retain healthy roots and green plant parts.

5. Keep the existing planting depth

   Add a little compost, insert the root ball and preserve its previous surface level. Do not bury the stem base or crown more deeply. Keep the swollen Cycas stem at its previous level.

6. Fill the spaces

   Add compost around the root ball in small portions. Firm gently and close large air pockets without heavily compacting the mixture.

7. Water in and let it drain

   Water slowly until excess runs from the base. Remove that excess. Afterwards check moisture in the old root ball and fresh compost separately.

8. Support establishment

   After repotting, protect the plant from stress and observe its actual water needs. Account for the compost’s initial nutrients; add feed only when needed.

Prepare the fertiliser separately

5 ml per 1.5 litres of water.

Every 3–4 weeks during active growth.

Regular application period: April–September.

The German back label allows double strength during new growth and after pruning. This exception does not replace assessing the plant; green fronds should not be routinely removed.

1. Shake

   Shake the concentrate before use.

2. Prepare water

   Pour the required amount of water into a suitable container.

3. Select strength

   Use standard 100%, young plants 50%, or seedlings with leaves 20% of the basic dilution. Concentration does not determine the watering volume needed.

4. Measure concentrate

   Measure the calculated amount accurately with a suitable measuring aid.

5. Mix

   Add the concentrate to the water and mix evenly.

6. Apply as needed

   Feed the already moist root ball when nutrients are needed; do not overwater using a rigid water volume.

Do not mix the entire bottle into the bag. The compost is ready to use; dilute the concentrate separately with water.

10 litres of compost: ingredients

Peat · clay · lava · perlite

Raised-bog peat H3–H8, clay including expanded and raw clay, lava rock, forestry materials such as wood fibre and bark humus, perlite, calcium carbonate and NPK fertiliser.

Free drainage and watering according to need remain essential. Do not bury the swollen stem more deeply when repotting.

Values refer to the time the product is placed on the market; nutrient levels may change during storage.

• pH (CaCl₂): 5.9.
• Salt content (KCl): 1.4 g/l.
• Nitrogen (N): 200 mg/l (CaCl₂).
• Phosphate (P₂O₅): 250 mg/l (CAL).
• Potassium oxide (K₂O): 420 mg/l (CAL).
• Magnesium (Mg): 80 mg/l (CaCl₂).

Fertiliser

• Do not use undiluted. Shake well before use.
• Preferably use low-lime water or rainwater at 15–25 °C.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight or at temperatures below 5 °C or above 30 °C.
• Apply to a pre-moistened root zone or spray the foliage. Do not spray open flowers.
• Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Dry · dark · above 8 °C to a maximum of 38 °C

Store in a dry, dark place above 8 °C and at no more than 38 °C.

Compost

Minimise dust and do not inhale it. Avoid eye contact and prolonged skin contact.

Keep away from food and animal feed, out of reach of children and animals. Wash hands after use.

Store protected from weather, in dry and dark conditions; protect against drying out, excessive moisture and direct sun. Reseal opened packaging tightly and use promptly.
