FELCO 31 anvil secateurs for large hands

FELCO 31 cuts with a straight, double-bevelled blade against an anvil. This design is particularly suited to hard and dead wood.

Rated cutting capacity is up to 25 mm. Wood species, condition and hand strength affect comfortable cutting. Use suitable loppers or a saw for thicker branches.

1. Check the fit

   FELCO 31 is designed for large hands. Check that you can open and close the handles comfortably without changing your grip.

2. Position the cut

   Support the wood securely on the anvil, deep within the open cutting head. Keep fingers outside the cutting area.

3. Close smoothly

   Apply steady pressure without levering sideways. Keep your free hand away from the cutting area.

4. After pruning

   Remove sap and dirt, dry the tool and apply a little oil to moving parts.

• Keep your free hand and other people clear of the cutting area.
• Place the tool securely before maintenance; do not test sharp edges with bare fingers.
• Close the catch for transport and storage, and keep the tool out of children’s reach.

Remove residues after pruning and dry the tool. Lightly oil moving parts and wipe off excess oil. Sharpen the blade as needed, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

If cleaning and adjustment do not restore a clean cut, inspect the blade and anvil for wear. Check the model before ordering replacement parts.
