Repotting in eight steps

1. Plan the site and container

   Choose a draining container suited to the cultivar, or prepare a sunny, well-drained position in the bed.

2. Check planting material

   Use firm, healthy tubers or well-rooted plants. Handle tuber necks and young shoots gently.

3. Place supports early

   For tall cultivars, insert a support before or during planting to avoid damaging tubers later.

4. Loosen the compost

   Loosen the ready-to-use mix. Add a base layer in the pot or prepare the planting hole in the bed.

5. Position the dahlia

   Set tubers with shoots facing up and position the crown just below the compost surface. Keep rooted potted plants at their previous planting level.

6. Fill and firm gently

   Fill the gaps and firm gently. Leave watering space beneath the pot rim.

7. Water responsively

   Avoid keeping tubers continuously wet before strong growth starts. Water rooted plants in and allow excess to drain.

8. Support continuing growth

   Tie new shoots loosely when needed. Feed after 4–6 weeks during growth; keep started plants protected while frost remains possible.

Prepare the fertiliser separately

One 5 ml capful per 1.5 litres of water. Every 1–2 weeks during growth; usual application season in Europe is May/June to September. Account for growth, need and existing nutrients.

1. Shake

   Shake the concentrate before use.

2. Prepare water

   Pour the required amount of water into a suitable container.

3. Select strength

   Use standard 100%, young plants 50%, or seedlings with leaves 20% of the basic dilution. Concentration does not determine the watering volume needed.

4. Measure concentrate

   Measure the calculated amount accurately with a suitable measuring aid.

5. Mix

   Add the concentrate to the water and mix evenly.

6. Apply as needed

   Feed the already moist root ball when nutrients are needed; do not overwater using a rigid water volume.

Do not mix the entire bottle into the bag. The compost is ready to use; dilute the concentrate separately with water.

• 5.6 % total nitrogen (N); the label specifies 1.2 % nitrate nitrogen and 3.6 % urea nitrogen.
• 8.0 % water-soluble phosphate (P₂O₅).
• 10.8 % water-soluble potassium oxide (K₂O).
• Water-soluble trace nutrients: boron 0.01 %; copper 0.004 %; iron 0.02 %; manganese 0.012 %; molybdenum 0.001 %; zinc 0.004 %. Copper, iron, manganese and zinc are EDTA-chelated.

High-moor peat (H3–H8), plant materials from gardening and landscaping (green-waste compost), sand, calcium carbonate and calcium ammonium nitrate.

Contains boron, copper and zinc in horticulturally relevant amounts. Nutrient values apply when placed on the market, may vary naturally and may require checking before use after storage.

• Phosphate (P₂O₅): 350 mg/l (CAL).

Fertiliser

• Do not use undiluted. Shake well before use.
• Keep out of reach of children and animals.
• Preferably use low-lime water or rainwater at 15–25 °C.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight or at temperatures below 5 °C or above 30 °C.
• Apply to a pre-moistened root zone or spray the foliage. Do not spray open flowers.
• Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves and safety goggles when mixing and applying. Use clean, chemically suitable tools and containers.

Dry · dark · above 8 °C to a maximum of 38 °C

Store dry and dark, above 8 °C and no higher than 38 °C. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Compost

Store under cover

Store sheltered from the weather and in the dark. Protect from drying out, excessive wetness and direct sunlight. Seal opened bags tightly and use promptly.
