The story

Origins & history

Wildflower areas recall the colourful fringes of meadows, woodland edges and hedgerows that were once found everywhere. Many of these habitats have disappeared in recent decades. The idea of this mix is to bring a piece of that diversity back to garden and balcony.

Uses

What sets it apart is the site: the mix is intended for partly shaded and shady spots where many summer flowers struggle. It is a food source for bees and other beneficial insects and is also suitable for window boxes. It needs no fertiliser.

Meaning

The word ‘Zauber’ – magic – in the name rings true: a wildflower area looks a little different every year, as the plants come to the fore in different ways depending on weather and site.

A thought for giving

This mix flowers where others shy away from the shade. Among people, too, there are those who blossom precisely in quiet places.

How to sow

1. Broadcast from April to June over finely crumbled soil; loosen it beforehand with the BERGER Pflanzkelle (hand trowel).
2. Press the seeds in only lightly and keep moist until germination.
3. At 12 to 20 °C they germinate in 14 to 21 days.
4. Partial shade to shade, without fertiliser; 90 g is enough for about 30 m².
