Sie befruchten sich  gegenseitig und danach legt jedes Tier Eier ab.   Die Ackerschnecke kann z. B. bis zu 400 Eier pro Jahr ablegen. Man findet diesen »Schneckenkaviar« als weiße, kleine Perlchen - häufig beim Umgraben.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTipp:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eRüsten Sie sich nachts mit einer Taschenlampe aus und gehen Sie auf Schneckenjagd. Denn Schnecken sind nachtaktive Tiere. Leider ist dies nur für Kleinstflächen wirklich praktikabel. Bei trockenem Wetter bietet ein wenige Zentimeter breiter Streifen aus Branntkalk eine gewisse Schutzwirkung. Einfach lückenlos rund ums Beet streuen. Nach dem ersten Tau oder Regen ist er allerdings wieder nutzlos.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFalls Ihnen das Töten zu grausam erscheint, dann achten Sie auf feinkrümelige »Bodenbearbeitung«. Damit nehmen Sie Schnecken ihre »Schlupflöcher«. Schnecken verstecken sich auch gern in der sonst so nützlichen Mulchschicht. Daher mit dem Mulchen am besten bis November warten. Denn bei Kälte lässt auch die Schneckenplage nach.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003chr\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAnwendungszeitpunkt:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDie Anwendung erfolgt gewöhnlich im Frühling, Frühsommer und auch im frühen Herbst. Bei starkem Befall kann es sein, dass die Anwendung wiederholt werden muss.
